Default Importing CSV entries into custom fields

Hi all, I have searched the forum for answers to this general problem but have found nothing that is specific to my particular variation on the theme:

When importing a csv file there are no problems encountered with standard sugar fields. However the custom fields I have set up (in both edit and detail views) are succesfully imported for SOME but not other cases (ie leads). In a test import of approx 300 less than 1/3 have the data imported into the custom fields but the rest do not. Any initial help would be greatly appreciated.

    (Version 4.5)

    Cheers

There will be a new import module for the OS version by Monday, it should work out. It is NOT an official SugarCRM thing, just me writing another module. If you could EMail me a sample from your csv file and the file that you would download if you go to "admin->studio->Migrate Custom Fields" I will test it for you and make sure it works.

    My Email address is kbrill@sugarcrm.com.

Hi Kenneth and thanks so much for the reply - much more help than I had expected. I have sent the files as requested. I hope it is not a case of 'user error' and hat I have wasted you time but many thanks regardless.

    Cheers
