    Default Importing issue

    Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing something when importing prospects to sugar, well, the fact is that I have built an Excel Macro for
processing the data exported from another system before doing the import process in sugar; I have to make some little changes to my Macro so that at the end of the process I'll have a single .txt file with all the data we want to import, but the problem now is that at step # 3 of the import process, sugar isn´t showing the data imported (the following screen after the import process is done), so that, I can't create a target list based on the recently imported data.

Another fact is that the import process actually takes place, I mean, it gets done but you don't realice because you can't see the screen after step # 3 of the import process, what can be causing this?, if the file that's being imported only has 10 records. I also thought that this could be caused by the datatype difference of the field on the database and of the field on the file but I've imported the same fields that I have in one of the two files that allows to perform the import normally and still doesn't work as it normally has to.

I have 2 files, with the first one, just mentioned, the import process works and ends fine but with the second file it doesn't and I have sugar behaving the way I mentioned above, the screen at step # 3 never changes.

I've attached the 2 files in a single file for you to look at it, by the way, open it on excel to see both files clearly, the data at the bottom is the data that is presenting this issue.

I have another question to make, is there a limit of rows in the file being imported? or the number of records to import witin the file doesn´t matter?

Do you have any ideas on what can be happening to cause this issue?

Any help would be very much appreciated,

    Thank you in advance,

    Juancho

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how many rows can sugar import at a single import operation?, or there's no row limit for this import option to carry on the import process without issues??, I have a 5541 rows .txt file and the import doesn't end right, the screen remains in the step three of the import process and doesn't show the screen after step three is done (see the screenshot), and if I check the DB it has only imported 483 rows out of 5541, what could have gone wrong here during the import process?, could that be caused by the number of records on the file?, or can there be another reason for this issue?

Hope someone answers something that leads me to the solution of this issue!!

    Cheers,

    Juan Miguel

    Hello,

The Sugar max setting at one time for imported records is 20,000. Sugar recommends importing 1,000 records at a time for best performance.

That being said, your import may be stopping due to special characters that the system does not like. Check your user settings to make sure the import/export character set is set to 'UTF-8'. If this still does not work, you might want to check your data and remove or replace the special characters with ones that will import correctly.

I did what you said but this option is still not working properly, I tried with a 1000 rows file but it didn't import the whole 1000 rows, so I tried with a file that has 250 rows and, the import process was done but I still can't see the interface after step three,

Is this a bug or a data issue?, can you check the file I used in this process to see if there's somethiung that's not letting the omport process to end properly.

    Thank you for your support,
