    Default Licensing Issue ...

    Guys:

These guys are selling sugar opensource on a per month basis and have removed all the sugar logos.

Is this within the license ... Can I brand it like this ... ?

I would like to have only my own logo. But, I thought it was not legal to do this.

They seem to have removed the Sugar links and Powered by logo - which would be a breach of the license terms.

While much of the system dates back to the Sugar 1.5 fork - I believe they have also incorporated dashboard elements from 2.5 at least. Not sure where their team announcements, and forecasts module came from.

    Michael,

how do you know? Did you try their product?

I would assume that you can make it look like you want ...

I have some screenshots from a demo they did for me, and it all "looks" like the Sugar 3.5 plus to me. Haven't seen the earlier versions.

They have some cool features -- such a s a very advanced campaign and direct marketing module that is very interesting since they have scheduled fulfillment on the back end. They claim to have over a 1000 subscribers so far.

But, if they are outside the license requirements -- no sense spending $89/month on them. Plus, they claim they did this all themselves and deny to even have heard about SugarCRM.

You know how marketing types are ...

You can see the influence of the 1.5 fork in the sub-menu navigation style, for instance.

Look at the chart on the Home Page as well.

Yes - well it seems to me there are some agreements broken with this code. It might be interesting to read their headers. Notice no attribution at all. It seems the decent thing to do would be to boycott these folks.

Looks like somebody got to them, since they have now protected even the front page with a password.

I got a couple of screenshots, in case someone is interested I can upload them here. Just added one of the many.
