Limiting users ability to see information

i just installed and setup SugarCE latest version. Is there a way for me to prevent a user from seeing another user's information? I am guessing I would need a module of some kind. I know a user can filter to see only their own but I need to remove the capability for them.

Department directors would need to see information for their people and the CEO (and administrator) would need to see all.

Any and all ideas would be appreciated.

You can use the Role functionality to set up a role which only allows the selected users to view the records assigned to them (Set Edit, View, List to 'owner'. You can click here for more information on setting up roles.

You don't need to do anything special here. By default, a user can see all records. So just create the user. By default, if this user has admin privileges, they can see all records of the system anyway.

Department directors would need to see information for their people

If you are ok with the department directors seeing all records in the system, then all you need to do is create their users and no special setup is needed. They can use the Saved Searches and the Dashlets to easily be able to only view the records assigned to the users who report to them.
If you want the department directors to only view the records for themselves and their subordinates, then this is a bit more tricky. What you really want then is Team security, which is a feature of Pro/Ent. There is a plugin you might be able to install from the Forge, or customizations would need to be done to enable this functionality
