    Default Limits?

Hello I want to evaluate Sugar OS with a view to buying Sugar Pro. However as I am currently experiencing installation problems I have not got to do any evaluating yet. In the interim, can someone tell me if there are any limits on the number of contacts? We would be looking at around 40,000 companies and around 3-4 tmes that in contacts.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

As far as I know there aren't any limits regarding the no. of records in the system. Depending on your DB of choice you might want to ask a database guru for some performance tweaks.

Most probably you will encounter some problems if you plan to use the Sugar import utility, here you have to fiddle a little bit with the php.ini. You'll find some threads in this forum.

    Hi jono,

A couple of items that might help you out:

    1. Check out Jacob's (our CTO's) thread on performance tips which can help you set up your enviroment to scale. There are no "hard limits" on the number of records; the only limits have to do with ensuring that your environment is correctly tuned as you grow your database.

    2. If you'd like to check out the features of Sugar without going through the install, you can use the Demo environment. This link takes you to the Open Source demo; there are also demos of the Professional and Enterprise editions as well. These demos are fully-functioning instances of the product that you can log into to check out the features. Finally, on this page at the bottom there's the place where you can create your own demo, so you can see the administrative functions as well.

    Hope this helps!
