mail blast to leads

using the latest open source (4.2.1a).
i was wondering if there's a way to send a mail blast to all leads in the database ? i can only see a way to send to contacts...am i missing anything here ?

You can use mass email to send to all leads. How many leads do you have? If it's more than a thousand, it would take some work to add all of them to a Target List.

Currently, TargetList allows you to add 20 leads at a time through the popup box. That would be a lot of clicking Next to get all the Leads.

What I would do is edit the config file. Change the value in this line 'list_max_entries_per_page' => 20, to 'list_max_entries_per_page' => 500,. You can change the config file back to the value 20 after you finish this task. After you finish adding all leads to the Target List, you can follow the Mass Emailing instruction to send the emails out to all of them.

I recommend you to get the Power Prospecting module of Mr. Milk. That way, you can easily add Contacts, Leads, Targets to Target List.

I am wondering about a similar problem...I want to mass mail a bunch of contacts that have a shared value (eg are based within a certain distance of a place). Is there a way to group them?

I can't allocate them all to one account because they already have their own parent account and I can't see a way of creating a project and then forcing tham all into that.

But even if I could group them like this, I'm not sure I could mass mail the group's members. Any suggestions gratefully etc...

I don't exactly understand what it is you are trying to do. You can add all contacts you want to a target list. It can be a pain to search for contacts based on anything else beside the default (lastname, firstname...). Once you have the target list (like group), you can reuse it over and over in different campaign.

I know my pain is that users want to be able to pin contact to various drip marketing lists. The power prospecting module
is perfect for this however currently doesn't work with our sugar ver. 4.2a.
