Managing Subscriptions Across Departments.

Sugar Forum,

We are running email campaigns through Sugar Version 5.0.0b (Build 3150) (Community Edition). Our organization has several departments which will each run their own campaigns. Typically, there will be one user associated with each of these departments who will run campaigns for their department.

However, whilst the campaign will themselves be different (different email templates, etc.), the targets lists which these departments will use are derived from the SAME source which means that there will be overlap of targets amongst the various target lists compiled by various departments.

If a recipient / target were to unsubscribe from a campaign sent through one department, my understanding is that they will be unsubscribed through ALL target lists in which their email appears which may be across several departments since this target may appear in several target lists.

THE QUESTION - Is there a smart way to configure the campaigns module / target lists such that the unsubscribe is specific to that user / department?

Hi, Ram.

It is possible to do.
You have to create custom field which will tell related to which department this prospect list is.
And you have to modify the removeme.php script into root of sugarcrm.

Many thanks for that. So you created a new field called "Department" and then linked a target list to that department? And this prevents unsubscribed targets from being reflected across all departments?

Also, could you elaborate on the specific changes you made to remove.php?
