mass emailing

Hi

Well I have set up my email accounts and that is fine but now I want to send out 1000 emails. So I have set it all up in campaigns, I have my target list with all my contacts and now I press the send email button, but nothing happens.

Is there an obvious step that I have missed here

I am on the current release of Sugar Version 5.2.0i (Build 5757) community edition

Have you set up and tested smtp server connections in admin>email settings?

Also in Campaigns header ... what do see when you click "view status"?

No ... click on the Campaign that you set up.

You'll see the Title ...... Campaigns: Campaign Name

Look to the buttons on the right hand side .... click on the "View Status" button ....

You should see a header form followed by a graph and campaign subpanels

So, what do you see when you do that?

Right this has been a user error as I did not select the email template (marketing step), really stupid but the wizard just stops at Target list and does not go through to marketing.

So I can now send emails but getting my target list is painful as I have 2000 email address and I have to select them 20 at a time. Any help here would be good.

Then when I want to send them I have to select them again 20 at a time in the email queue.

now I can't believe this so I assume that the batch job will send these out at the time this is scheduled for. Am I correct in this?

All in All Sugar is absolutely fantastic and I will be replacing SalesForce.com the only problem is it is not very intuitive like Salesforce but once you know it its better.

I think the help does little more that just stating what is on the screen rather that going through a process of setting up a campaign and getting the emails out. Is there anyplace where this sort of help is available?

You should install Power Prospecting from the SugarForge ... this enables you to mass update target lists from Contact Leads etc
