Default Massive Upload for dropdown lists

    Hi there

Is there any way to import massive values from an external file, at the time we create a new dropdown lists?

I have to create a dropdown list called Region_list, with more than 300 values, and adding them manually can be a pain.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

BTW: We are using SugarCRM CE V5.5

That is a typical job for an ETL tool like Talend Open Studio.

Or an MS-Access query if there is no worklflow needed behind the change of your dropdown.

    Hi Thanks a lot

Yes we normally use Kettle from Pentaho also, however was wondering if there was such a functinality already implemented in SugarCRM as when you import Contacts or Accounts

    Thanks for the answer

No, no native functionality ... you can use an ETL tool, but it's often quicker just to write the SQL query if it's non-complex - as yours sounds

It would be very risky, if you try to update all these dropdowns by an import.
So it would be a must to index the import by the id.
It would take a very long time, as each record runs through the normal workflow of sugar.
That is the reason why importing is only sensful until a certain amount of data.
