Microsoft Office Plug-ins Security Issues

Hey Everyone,

I built a SugarCRM instance for my client which included access to the Microsoft Outlook / Excel plug-ins. However, their IT and security office denied the installation of the plug-ins because they created a security risk. We've tried sending them information on the product but to no avail. Has anyone encountered this situation before? Is there any document or information out there that we could forward to the office?

IT needs to understand the balance between security risks and being able to do ones job. Sounds like these folks have priorities a little bit out of whack. Any info on what their specific concerns were or is it a case of the lazies?
