Post migration data into accounts and contacts

We are planning to migrate data from legacy application into SugarCRM using .csv files and import feature from accounts and contacts. Our accounts are going to be our customers that can have the same names. In legacy system we have a unique identifier that distinguishes them. After populating the accounts we would like to populate contacts with the same data and to have a relationship between an account and the corresponding contact. We have approximately 120000 accounts. We added our unique identifier as a custom field to both account and contact. Please advise what is the correct way to migrate data of that type.

    Hi, aroyzen

If inside your contacts.csv file there is a field called account_name and its content is exactly the name of the account related to the current contact so the Sugar automatically will create a relationship between both.

the problem is that I will have several accounts with the same name, because our accounts are actually people's names (combination of last, first and middle initial) and they can be completely same in our system we separate them by a unique surrogate number that is not visible to the user. In sugar id makes each account unique, not the name.
