Default Moving to SugarCRM from CentricCRM...

    Hello everyone,

Our company has been using Centric CRM for two years. But we are now seriously considering migrating to Sugar CRM, for a lot of reasons (that I won't mention here, because the list is quite long !).
The main problem we face is: how could we not loose all the data we have in Centric CRM. Did anyone already face this problem ? Is, by any chance, any import / migrate tool available ?

    Thanx a lot
    Regards,
    Lionel

    Hi,

Although we have no experience with CentricCRM, you can probably use one of the following methods we have used at other customer sites.

    1. Export data from CentricCRM in csv format, use import wizard to import Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Notes.
    2. Use a tool like Jitterbit (www.jitterbit.com) to extract the data directly using ODBC or SOAP and then import to Sugar using the SOAP API's
    Cheers Malcolm

Bumping up, if you have come up with successful data migration?

    Hello,

Yes, we just finished the migration yesterday, with success !! The import & map columns in Sugar is really great. Once we'll have reviewed the imported data, we'll start customization of the environment, and then train our marketing team...

Just to be sure: from what I understood, there is no way to make reports in the Community Edition ?

    Thanx
    Lionel

    Hi Lionel,

Reporting doesn't come standard with CE, only with Professional & Enterprise

Check out Zuckerreports, http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/zuckerreports/ not as easy to use as the reporting module in Pro in my opinion.

Thanx for the link, I'll give it a try too... Else, we'll just use iReport to generate them, outside of Sugar.

The Zucker Reports and Jasper Reports in Sugar Exchange offer complex reporting capabilities.

Have you got a list of your top 5 (or 10 if you are a Letterman fan) things you did not like about Centric?
