    Default Multiple Companies Kinda

    Hi,

No really looking for multiple company support in sugarcrm, but I'm wondering if sugar works this way.

I am working with multiple companies, but I'm over time modifying sugar and I dont want to have to do it 5-6 times. So I'm fine with dumping all the companies into one install. What I don't want to happen is have company A's data to be associated with companies B info. Example, I have a manager at company A that I only want to be able to see only employees and customers of company A and ditto for company B. Is that possible with a standard install of sugar?

It can be done, but only with some customization work. For example, you'd have to develop a system for restricting user lists based on the currently logged in user to prevent overlaps and so forth.

Your starting point would have to be a Teams module with a team for each company.
Then with some extra work you can completely hide users from each other.
I am currently doing something similar for someone - e-mail me on sugarcrm@mjvn.net if you want formal help or just start with my teams module and take it from there.
