Guys I need to run 2 sugarcrm application on the same server. I was able to install it very good. I chose different directories, different port numbers for httpd and mysql. Now what happen is that when I log in one instance it logs me out of the other one....
SugarCRM uses a session cookie. It is possible to use two installations on the same server if they use different sessions.
If you use two different browsers it should work. If you want to use two windows or tabs of the same browser this is not always possible. I have tested with Firefox and Google Chrome. They do not support different sessions as far as I see. With Internet Explorer you can use "New Session" to open the second application and then you are able to use both applications parallel.
I don't understand your problem. If one user logs in into both applications at the same time he will get the problems as you described and what I answered. If two different people log in they shouldn't get those problems as far as they use different user accounts or use different installation.
OK, I already did it some time ago.
I fixed this issue, allows a kind of single-sign-on between sugar instances.
I didn't know how to do that with a safe upgrade techniques, but you can just overwrite the file MVC/include/SugarApplication.php with the attached file.
