Need help changing custom module drop-down list

I created a custom module called "Work Order" as a File type and I like to know if I can change the category_id Drop Down List from document_category_dom to a custome one called wo_workorder_category_dom that I already created?

Also if I make this change, will the category_id filed in the Document module change? I like to keep the one in the Document pointing to the document_category_dom.

You can override all predefined attributes on any module.
You just need to accomplish the changes on vardefs.php and module class.
