Need help downloading SugarBird (Thunderbird)

When at the following link and I click download, it saves as a "zip file": http://www.sugarforge.org/projects/asertiva/

When I go into Thunderbird, under "Tools" and "Add-ons" it won't allow me to upload the Zip file.

What step am I missing?

Any help would be much appreciated. I've tried for hours searching on previous topics.

Unzip the .xpi file.
In "add-ons" select "Extensions" tab and locate the .xpi file, then install and restart Thunderbird.

I've tried this; however, there is no xpi file that results from the unzip.

If you have any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. I saw another post about this without any solution. Could be a new version error?

I'm not sure what, exactly, you're downloading, but the SugarBird addon is not distributed as a ZIP archive. If you go to the download page , you'll notice that the most recent release is version 0.9.9.2, which is available as an XPI file directly, and thus does not need to be unzipped.

Download this file to your desktop (right-click and save as), then add it to Thunderbird as normal.

Maybe it's just a corrupted archive...
Try the attached file, it's the latest version.

Could it be that because I have internet explorer, it won't allow me to download xpi?

Thanks for your help.. I had to open with winzip and drag the xpi file into a folder and then save.
