    Question Need: SugarCRM Offline client

    Hello

Has anyone used this Offline client ?
Is that a web application in php or a standalone application for Windows/Linux desktop ?

Has anyone some screenshots to show ?

    Thank you in advance

This is quite easy. You can convert an existing installation into a Offlineclient. That means: it runs on a LAMP/MAMP/WAMPP stack, as your installation as well and you connect via /localhost/mysugardirectory. It looks the same as SugarCRM but you miss some modules.

    Thank you a lot.

So it is a we app with apache+php+mysql installed on each client.
The installation of this environment is automatic or made by hand ?

Is there any documentation about ? A customer of mine need this feature but beofre buying the Enterprise version, he would like to know about. Perhaps someone could send me some .txt or .doc included in the Enterprise.

    Thank you again

I am currently using Sugar as an offline client myself as I cannot get my host to turn off safe mode with php.

I found that for me the easiest way to do it is to either download easyphp or xampp (www.apachefriends.org) which will install the environment you need for Sugar.

Then it is just a matter of following the normal installation steps for sugar but instead of going to an outside web address you use either 127.0.0.1 or localhost for the address.

My local machine is nothing spectacular in terms of processing power but I find that Sugar is more that usable and a whole lot faster that using ACT.

    Hope this helps.

    Darren.
