    Default New Database

    I just installed Sugar Open Source with the Demo database and would like to import my contact data from either Act 2005 or Outlook. What would be the easiest way to do this? Is there a database template with the fields that I might be able to start with that I could import the data into or do I have to start from scratch and just build a new one? If so is there a guide to do this?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Question Re: New Database

    Yes, I also am just getting started and need to delete the demo database and then import my outlook data. I don't find any method for deleting the demo database except deleting 20 records at a time from the 1000 record contacts database and do the same for the other records.

    So, I am trying to...
    1) delete the demo database (I don't see how to do this);
    2) then install my Outlook data (I did see some info and method for this, but havn't read it yet);
    3) I would like to manage several different data sets with one installation of SugarCRM. Is this possible? I didn't find any database administration features in tha Admin section of SugarCRM.

    Thanks!

    Michael

    Default Re: New Database

    I was looking around and glanced over something at another site about php and saw something about a template for a database but not sure where it was. I ended up reinstalling the program and then imported a comma delimited I made from a Outlook database. I just upgraded to 4.0 and w=have been trying to see if I could get the incoming email to work. It says I am missing some data inorder to setup IMAP properly. But as for your question you can delete the demo Sugar data base from the php.admin panel but you have to rebuild another including the tables. That is why I was asking about the template.
