Default Notices in SugarCRM 4.0.1 after upgrading from 4.0.0

After upgrading from SugarCRM 4.0.0 to 4.0.1 the following notices are displayed on the top of every page:

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/html/sugarcrm/modules/Administration/DisplayWarnings.php on line 61

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/html/sugarcrm/modules/Administration/DisplayWarnings.php on line 68

Also, from the 4.0.0 version the following message is displayed in the User Management section when diplaying a user just above the ACL:
Notice: Undefined index: admin in /var/www/html/sugarcrm/modules/ACLActions/ACLAction.php on line 354

    Thanks,
    John Novak

What version of PHP are you running? SugarCRM only supports through PHP 5.0.4. There are bugs in later versions of PHP that cause issues in SugarCRM.

Are you sure your upgrade was completely successful? Is everything working besides these errors. It looks to me like it's possible some files didn't make it onto the file system.

One troubleshooting step would be to compare your production directories and files with the full installation package of 4.0.1 and see if there are any missing files or other oddities. I would use the tool WinMerge (available on SourceForge.net) for doing the diff.

    Clint:

    I am using PHP 5.0.4.

The upgrade indicated that both Step 1 and Step 2 were successful.

I did a comparison of the files in the upgraded version and the files from the Full 4.0.1 version. There were a number of files in the updated version that did not exist in the Full 4.0.1 version. Of the files that were not exactly the same, most contained a change in the copyright from 2005 to 2006. The files that I noticed that were different were fullscreen.html, .htaccess, and config.php. I tried attaching a .pdf file that shows all of the differences but I keep getting an error.

    Thanks,
    John Novak

    John,

When I did a new install, I got the same two errors that you originally posted. My original install was with PHP 5.2.1. I downgraded to PHP 5.0.3 and still got the errors. Downgrading again to 4.4.1 finally solved the problem for me. Most threads (including Clint in this one) suggest that PHP 5.0.3/4 should work, but I found that to not be the case for my install. It might be worth a shot.

Yes, php5.0.4 don't work. And php4.4 don't work completely. I use php 4.3.11 ,but I can't confirm it is perfect. Now I have a problem of export. I upgrade it from 3.5.1 to 4.0.0 then 4.0.1 , I found it can't export data completely. Who can help me?

Noone, until you give more detail. What do you mean 'I found it can't export data completely'?

Just to get my 2 cents in I have 14 installations all running PHP 4.4.x (some on 4.4.1 and some on 4.4.3) all running with out errors (at least no errors due to PHP version)
