    Default Online / Offline

    Hi Sugar people!

I just wonder what do to, if I should decide for sugar and have not Internet-connection (...there are rumors that this may happen from time to time...)

Is there a way to have sugar as local installation in combination with web-server installation so that if I am offline, I can still access important data?

Or do I have Outlook then and use Sugar only as a "distribution and access interface" for my colleagues so that I simply put to Sugar what they have to know and keep the rest for myself locally in Outlook?

Thank you very much for helping me on this important topic!

I guess you are talking about the Sugar Hosting option here, this one should be answered by the Sugar guys.

With the Enterprise version, an Offline client comes as standard, it can also be bought for Prfessional, but not for the Open Source version. Have you considered installing SugarCRM locally on a server? Then you can forget your first and second question mostly!

Outlook only synchronises a part of the Sugar data i.e. accounts, contacts, activities

So what is the general online / offline infrastructure? I did not find a diagram or something comparable, yet.

Let's assume I have Sugar on the web server and I have 5 local PCs in the company as well as 2 notebooks. Both for PCs and notebooks I would like to have Sugar data access also in case I have no Internet connection, at least data of last 6 months or so.

All this can be handled with the Sugar offline client?

Is it possible to have time-limited trial version of professional or enterprise in this case to testdrive offline functionality?
