Only Admin Works..New user fails login

I have downloaded the 4.5.1f installed fine. Then I ran patch.. noproblems,

Now I could able to login using only Admin account, I created new user, but I could not login using other than the admin.

Is it a limitaion of the OpenSource version or something else..? I tried all posiblities, I have see the same question before in the general topic, but there are no replies...

I really got fedup trying to figure this out, if this does not solve I need to look for some thing else....

BTW

I am running on Fedora core 4
with mySQL 4.1.12
php: 5.0
Apache 2.x

#1, how does it stop you from logging in, is there an error message?

This is not any limitation on the OS version, it might mean that your users table is damaged in some way.

On the login screen, after I enter the username and password and hit login button,

The following is the message comes in red...

You must specify a valid username and password

When I try to login as admin , there is no problem...
