OpenSales for SugarCRM update before end of 2008

As for logos, i like the 5, but just the type without the symbol.
The symbol looks cryptic to me.

In the absence of STUDIO support, is there another way of creating custom fields using OpenSales v1.0 on Sugar CEv5.1 ?

Any guidance most appreciated.

PS: We need to go Live with a new SugarCRM system at the end of February. What's the chance of getting OpenSalesv1.1. (with studio support) before then?
