Default Opportunity export to csv: rows get messed up

    Hi all

I am using Sugar CE (Version 6.1.3). I create Opportunities. In the Opportunities there is a "Description" field where I can enter text. Beacause it is easier to read, I start a new line, whenever I make an update on the Opportunity.

    It looks something linke this:
    Description:
    - June 2, 11: called, customer needs more time
    - June 5, 11: called, customer is away on holiday

When I export the Opportunities to a csv-file, the information of all Opportunities with linke breaks in the Description field is wrong.

The csv-file assumes, that the line break betwenn "...time" and "- June 5..." is a new data set an puts it on a new row.

Has anyone an idea how to solve this issue?

    Thanks for any ideas.

    Hi,

I don't think there is anything you can do. The problem is probably to do with the way in which the CSV file interprets line breaks.

The Description field is not really intended to keep a case history (that would be done by the sub-panels).

If you want to maintain the Description field as a case history and be able to export to a CSV file then I think you need to avoid line breaks (you could use spaces to maintain the look of the Description field).
    Kind regards,

    Adrian
