I have a few questions that I hope you can answer. I'll start with the requirement I have to implement and then I'll talk about some of the things I'm trying to do.
My sales department wants to do some basic forecasting, so they need to add a few part numbers and quantities to the Opportunity Management edit page. Based on that information, a new report should be added to the Dashboard showing total quantities per part number used in all open opportunities (might need a filter criteria for opportunities with probability above 60% or something).
Now, the way I think this could be solved is
1) Add Part No. and Qty fields to the opportunity edit view with the Admin-> Studio -> Field layout module. Problems I found, I only find 2 anchors for adding fields; and how can I add more than one part no and qty pair?
2) Create a new report for the dashboard. Problem: i have no idea how to add a report that will take into account the newly added fields.
Any ideas or documentation you can point me to that will cover what Im trying to do in detail?
