We liked the way that there is a separate dropdown for the Opportunity-Contact Role, so that it could describe the particular role a Contact had for a particular Opportunity.
We wanted to duplicate that function with a new Contract-Contact Role.
I would have hoped that you could simply use Studio to add a new field to the subpanel, but no.
It's a serious bit of editing, nicely described at SugarCRM Developer Blog » Blog Archive » Adding Fields to a Relationship/Subpanel, but not for the timid, and is it update-friendly?
After more searching in the forum, we discovered other potential problems.
You can't use the report wizard to report on this existingfield anyway!! Not even the existing opportunity-contact role.
There had to be a better way of adding your own reports to SugarCRM pro!
The feedback for Zucker is offputting - SugarForge: ZuckerReports: Reviews
I tried installing Kinamu, but the free option didn't provide noticeably more functionality and the pricing model is based on the total number of users, not just the number who will be running the report.
SugarForge: SynoReports by SYNOLIA: Project Info looks intriguing, although it doesnt say it will work with version 6.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to extract this opportunity-contact field into a report, and make it accessible to the main user?
(sorry for the whinge, but there always seem to be limitations even with the paid sugarpro)
