Default Outbound call management via API

Hi, I'm a SugarCRM newbie. We want to replace our custom outbound call manager and we're considering SugarCRM. However it has to integrate tightly with the rest of our custom CRM. So I need to assess if SugarCRM's API is flexible enough for our requirements.

For example, certain agents only handle certain types of users. Call queues are ordered by call-time taking timezones into account. Can a standard SugarCRM handle this via API? We're a .NET shop so we don't want to mess with SugarCRM's code.

Are there any code samples (any language will do) that show how the call management API (or whatever this is called) works?

    Thanks

I am assuming that what you want to do is to schedule and log calls via the API, which is definitely possible.

Take a look at the Developers web site and you'll find some samples as well as a programmer's guide which may help you along: http://developers.sugarcrm.com

Thanks Angel. Can SugarCRM schedule outbound calls automatically and assign them to agents based on some defined rules?

Cool blog by the way! The SugarCRM API would be a nice topic to blog about ;-)

Yes, it is possible to do that. You'd most likely want to use logic hooks for that, but the API is another valid option.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I always have more ideas on the burner than I have time for, so keep an eye on it and don't be surprised if you see some stuff on the API in the near future.
