Outbound email doesn't work

I have struggled to IMAP Gmail to Sugar but that finally works. Now the issue is that outbound mail is failing. I'm hoping somebody has an idea of how to fix this. Is it a server issue? Is it a Sugar issue?

I've got it down to:

"Error emailing: The following From address failed: aaron@gobrochures.com"

That's with the smtp port set to 25. When I change it to 465, I get this error:

PHP Notice: fputs() [<a href='function.fputs'>function.fputs</a>]: send of 12 bytes failed with errno=32 Broken pipe in /chroot/home/twozeroo/2010brochures.com/html/sugar2008/include/phpmailer/class.smtp.php on line 151, referer: http://2010brochures.com/sugar2008/i...s&action=index

Hopefully somebody has an idea of how to fix this...

Probably need a bit more information to help. Sugar has two settings for outbound in the email settings. That is either sendmail or SMT. I'd guess you either have it set to sendmail and don't have it available on the server or you have it set to SMTP and your settings are incorrect. You could just try telnet 25 on either localhost for sendmail or to the smtp settings you have entered to confirm it is there. You get a response from the mail server if it is.
