    Question Outside Portal Help

In the Sugar CRM Open Source documentation on Page 45 there is a reference to Portal Name, Portal Password, Confirm Portal Password and Portal Active. Also the is a Contact Field entiteled Portal Application. Is there anyone that can help me determine how to use each of these fields.

I want to provide an outside customer portal to limited data in Projects.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Sugar had one initial project, which was available with OS and Pro versions - which I believe has now become old and not in sync with the latest versions. There is a new SugarPortal - which is an extra-cost option for paying customers of Sugar Pro /Enterprise. But I do not believe it has project collaboration capabilities. And lastly - we have our Info At Hand Customer Portal (a commercial product) which does offer project collaboration - see here for description of portal capabilities.

Thanks for the reply. Your web site indicates this is a Joomla Module. Does it integrate directly to Sugar CRM?

I am a real estate broker and I want to use this application for providing my clients with access to certain data and photos with both password access and non-password protected access in a read only mode.

    Will this do the job?

Yes it is built on top of Joomla - 1.0.12 at present. It links to our Info At Hand superset of SugarCRM OS. It requires a much broader SOAP API than the standard Sugar API. Your scenario seems a reasonable thing to do with it - but really you have to decide on the suitability to your application.

Please help me respond to your comments. You indicate that I need to "decide on the suitability of my application" what do you mean by that?

We are currently developing a web application in Drupal that will spin of a lot of leads. I want to be able to seemlessly (or as seemlessly as possible) transfer those leads to the CRM. Beyond that I want to handle typical real estate transations in the CRM system.

For example, when we get a Listing for a home I want to be able to create a Transaction (using a modified Project or Case) where I can store description, marketing information and photographs of the home. Some of this information including photos would be accessable through my marketing web site (read only) without password protection.

Also, I want to have a showing feedback system that will allow a showing agent to input feedback and comments about the house via email and the client can assess that limited data under password control.

Will this system do the job and how much will you charge for your application?

This is not really an appropriate discussion for these forums - please email me to discuss in more detail.

    Dherries,

I also use Drupal and want to move the leads (activities by registered members, such as downloading protected content) into Sugar. Did you find a solution?
