4.5 release has many ‘per user’ customization capabilities that I wanted to highlight in this post. This provides tremendous ‘Personalization’ capabilities which will drive user adoption. These features are scattered all over the application and my attempt is to summarize these capabilities.
1. Customizable Home page
Fully customizable home page powered by AJAX.Users can drag and position dashlets on the homepage.
This re-ordering sequence is persisted on a per user basis.
CRM users choose what they want see on the screen.
Support agents can remove the ‘Forecast’ dashlet if they choose to. This reduces clutter on the home page.
CRM users decide how they want to see the data on the screen.
User can add/remove columns and create custom filters on a dashlet.
CRM users can extend the data and widgets on the screen.
Developers can create new dashlets if the out of the box information is not sufficient.
Ex: If PS builds an ‘Order Management’ module, a new dashlet can be created for orders in minutes and placed on the dashboard.
2. Customizable detail views
Sub panels in the detail view can now be customized.
Users can drag and drop sub panels based on the business needs.
