PHP Memory Limit

I try to install in a webserver in which i cannot modify the php.ini file SugarCRM 4.0.1.a

I have a warning:
"PHP Memory Limit >= 20M Warning: 12M (Set this to 20M or larger in your php.ini file)"

Only few questions:
1. Could I proceed with the installation?
2. What kind of problem could I have next?
3. Could I solve the problem installing a previous version of SugarCRM?

The problem is you will see strange problems or bizzare things happen when PHP runs out of memory. I have found Shared hosting to be probmatic with SugarCRM. I would recomend a virtual shared hosting where you will get access to these settings or a dedicated server. I can get a virual dedicated shared host starting for about $35 a month. amoung the other benifits it provides root access in a dedicated environment that is isolated from other hosted servers and provides guarntees memory avalability. This is the best shared option you can get and still have the fine graned control you need for applications. The best option is a deicated server that you have access to all resources on you machine.
