Populate PDF or Word Template

Hello,

I've searched the forums and sugarexchange / sugarforge but I've come up empty.

Does anyone know of a module that will allow us to upload a PDF or Word template to SugarCRM? I'd like to have a button in a module that can generate a PDF file by filling in the template with the module fields. I'm not sure the built in mail merger feature will work as it requires quite a bit of user involvement and I'm looking for somthing simplistic.

I have looked myself and have had several customers also request such a feature. While we've never found a solution on the forge, we have been able to create some customizations that accomplished the task with a great deal of simplicity. There are some excellent PHP classes available to generate PDF and/or Word documents and with a little creative programming they can be used to create a template system. I'd be happy to help you out further if you would like.
