possibile bug: editing template repeatedly removes all occurrences of "cont"

I know it sounds weird. i am using open source 4.5.1d
i tried creating a new email template fromm scratch as a test, same issue. what i do is edit my email newsletter template, add some links, save: exit the template and save: i can see that all occurrences of the phrase cont are removed.

for example:
This Month!

becomes This mh!

anyone else getting this. i think it started a couple subversions ago but not sure exactly when.

I think this is bug #12825. It looks like it might be slated to be fixed in 4.5.1e.

thanks, i didnt know where to search but i did find bugs.sugarcrm.com and couldnt find anything searching for those issue.

looking at that particular bug,that doesn't sound like the bug i'm experiencing on this issue (though i am getting wioerd links issues too lately, where links to images dont stay sometimes. anyhow at the end of the bug someone put in the following which does sound like my issue:

Additional Info. It's not just HTML tags. Sending a word like "contact" (or "Contact" or "contacts") to or from Sugar will result in a truncated "c" or "cact" in the HTML body.

in my case its just editing the email, not forwarding it. thanks.

I'm having several and similar problems with 4.5.1d

Contacts becomes c

Sponsors becomes sp

My favorite - Squeakywheelonline.com becomes squeakywheel.com

Doesn't seem to matter if it's a picture or <a href=>

I have been able to edit it at the database - just can't go back into Sugar to edit. Seems to only be on templates created after the upgrade to 4.5.1d

We are having the same problem with HTML emails truncating words. Specifically the word "consultants". It doesn't matter if the word is in the middle a link or all by itself: 'consultants' becomes 'c', and 'support@allegroconsultants.com' becomes 'support@allegroc.com'

Is there a specific fix for this, or does it require an entire patch/upgrade.

This specific instance of sugar is 4.5.1a

Hi there,

I don't know if there is a specific fix, but you should strongly consider upgrading to the latest patch of 4.5.1. You'll get a large number of critical fixes, as well as some security patches, in addition to the bug fix you need.

I've long since resolved this and in fact forget exactly what i did. I *think* it was that my html was getting completely mangled.. not sure if it was sugar specifically or what.. i think what i did was start fresh with my original copy of my html email template.. try that!
