I have ported the latest Sugar version to work with postgresql. and to my surprise queries run on average of 100% faster than on MySQL. This is out of the box without adding any indexes! I really do not understand why Sugar has not added support for this database engine. The only way I have been able to get comparable results is to run sugar on mssql which is very cost prohibitive. I am still in the testing phase but when I am finished I will post the patch to sugarforge. Again I really don't understand why Sugar hasn't implemented this it took me about 3 hours to get it to work correctly. The only thing left to do is modify the search queries make everything lowercase because postgres is a case sensitive database.
