Problem running Demo plus a live system

Hello,

I installed SugarSuite-4.2.0d.zip followed by the patch file SugarSuite-Patch-4.2.0d.zip to create a live database. This worked OK.

We decided that we needed to get more familiar with the software so I installaed another copy of the same into a compeltely separate directory tree and also installed the demo data. The demo suite will start up but the original installation fails to start from index.php. IE reports "The page cannot be displayed".

Is this a known problem? Is it possible to have two CRMs running from the same server? I deliberately put these two into separate directory trees so that they woudn't interefere with each other so is there some confilt in the MySQL database or possibly in the server's registry?

More information: I ran install.php again on the live system and re-installed it (after unlocking the installation in configure.php). I left the existing database and passwords etc. It now works. I expeced this to break the demo installation but that continues to work.
