problems with compose mail

hi
when i used compose mail option i found some problems.
If i select mail id from the contacts(which i have alreay stored) for 'To' field it gives an error'send_error'
If i type that mail -id in 'To' field ,mesg will be sent to that mail-id.

What is the problem?
