Default Project Management / Resource (people) management.

    Dear all,

I have a question about the project management module for the Suger Community edition and/or Sugar Professional, because I am looking for a (new) CRM for my company and I couldn't find a good answer to my problem.

Is the project management module really suitable for the following demands:

    1) There are different projects which can start anytime
    2) project teams will be formed/assigned to each project
    3) different people will be assigned, either fulltime or partime (30%, 40% or 70% etc)

    4) First, an overview is needed of the projects that are in progress and when hey will be/must be finished. Second, an overview is needed of the employees in which is clear when they are available (partime or fulltime).

    Thank you!

    Nick

If you need strong project management (cpa, wbs, resource balancing/scheduling etc) then sugar is not your tool.

It's good for relatively non-complex projects.

FYI ... the pro and ent project functions will all be availab le in the community edition from 5.5.1 onwards (from the sugarforge)

    Thank you for you reply!

The projects aren''t that complex. Team's of 4-8 people and projects of 3-8 months in a company of 25 people.
Point 3 and 4 in my post, are they not possible in Sugarcrm?!? If not, but maybe not the right forum, what is a good application for my question/problem?

Hate to say it but you'd be better off with a project management solution if you want to be able to follow standard project management methods/practices. There are some solid solutions out there such as Basecamp (http://basecamphq.com) which have tiered plans starting at free.

This is good news and maybe an option for my question. Arround which date will this edition be available?

I believe it was postponed to 5.5.2, see http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showp...84&postcount=4.

So that puts it in Q2 I think
    Developers go here
    Businesses go there (Dutch)

    Modules:
SugarDev.net Developer Tools | Config | Dutch Language Pack
