    Default read only access

Through admin panel, role management, I have changed "read only" access to a field in the cases module. When a user in this logs on, the field is not visibile. I was expecting it to be ready only... The field in reference is a dropdown field

I'm not sure to understand but I think you tryed to change acces rules to a field by managing role access. In role access you can't change access to a field : the access management is anly at module level (not by field).

    Hi, Samuel.

In the licensed flavors of SugarCRM 5.0 there is the field level security in the Roles management, so it is possible to do.
I would love to see that in the CE flavor.

    Hi, junk7478
Try to reproduce it to other field type, if you can then you could submit a new bug into bug tracker.

    Cheers

I tried for other field type and it seems the same problem exists. I will submit a problem through bug tracker
