Did you add studio.php file under modules/users/metadata/ folder.
And even after this error, the relationship was not created? Sometimes studio prompt error messages but process our request.

Exclamation Re: Relationship With User Module

    Sugar version : 5.5.4

"So i've created the blank studio.php file to get the Users module inside the studio" : Yes I have done the studio.php thing and i can clearly see Users in the studio. However the only Layout Defaults i see in the studio are "List View" & "Quick Create"

I wonder if this is a clue to the error "view definitions for View editview and Module Users are missing" However when i add an editviewdefs.php to the users module i get the same error that its missing.

And yes i always do quick repair & rebuild... even repair relationships.

Ok well i got it to work but i didnt really want it to do like this....

was able to create the relationship but i had to do it from the users module.... so i just did a many-to-many relationship with the module i wanted.

    Hi all
I am desperate to add new fields in the Users Module. I am using SugarCRM CE 5.5.1. I have followed what you have suggested in this post, by creating a blank studio.php in the metedata folder of the user module.

if worked (it seems) and I have been able to create and add new fields but now I would like to do something else

    a) I need to modofy the editview and detailview for user module, but it does not appear in the Studio (neither of them) is there any trick to get this working?. If after these changes (Studio.php and new fields) I try to open the Edit View it crashes, and if I try to check the Detail view the fields are not shown.
Fatal error: Call to a member function assign() on a non-object in C:\xampp\htdocs\gestorcentros\modules\DynamicField s\DynamicField.php on line 753
    b) I have created a one to many relationship between Contacts and Users, so a Contact can be assigned to more than one user.... I dont know if this works and if this could be used to assign a Contact to multiple users and then each user will have this contact in "My Contact List View" (List view limited to "owner"). But for the moment I am not being able to get the Users subpanel in the Contact DetailView either.

    c) if I am able to get the Users Subpanel in the Contact Detail View.... Will I be able to use the new fields I just have created in the Selection process to assign a new user to the Contact?

Thanks a lot for your advice in advance!!

    Hi there

Anyone can point me to any document or post that explains how to add this n:m relationship between contacts and users to work, in order that a Contact is being shared between two more users?

Is this possible in SugarCE 5.5.1?

    Cheers

    Yes, it is possible.
You need to create the relationship by hand.
Just follow the same implementation of relationship between Project and Accounts.

    Hi Andre

Thanks again for the answer. What I did for this was creating a blank studio.php file for Users to be able to work with it in Studio. Then I have created the n:m relatioship between Accounts and Users, and I am able to see the Users subpanel in the Account Detail View, however I am not able to select any user in that subpanel to assign it to the Account.

Is this the right approach?... also will this be enough to "share" the account between two users in the "My Account List View" for example, or shall I need to modify anything else?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi again Andre

Sorry for asking this again, but could you please let me know if by just creating this relationship between users and contacts as I have described, it is enough to share a contact between two users where their Role only alows to list or see "Owned Records".

If there is something else that would need to be done please let me know , as even after creating the relationship I am not able to select an user from the " Contact Users Subpanel"
