Reminders

hello everyone,

i have been trying sugar for a client. but what i cant figure out till now is how do these reminders work.

what i think should be happening is popups. or may be email notifications when it comes to a point when sugar is required to give a reminder about an activity. but till now i have not been able to see any popup. though there are notifications at the time of creation of event but not at the time of reminder.

am i missing something or is it a known bug. tried searching alot but not able to find any proper documentation on sugar.

There are indeed popups when a reminder expires. it's working fine afaik.
For email reminders, I'm not sure what is in place or not.

i am running 4.2.0 on latest lampp installation.

and i have tried it on three different installations on three different servers hosted locally as well as remotely but no installation seems to be working with reminders.

I have tried email notifications. It worked. But the problem is : it keeps sending email when I navigate to Admin screen or add a record in the subpanel. Some wierd thing happens everytime I do something. So I disabled it for now.

I might do a cros job or scheduler sometime in future so it is independant of the Sugar.

but what about reminders that should be appearing to users when the scheduled meeting/activity comes like one hour before the even. email notifications are working fine with my installations.

For me reminders work in the popup. but i need email notifications to the contacts. I did added some code to send email notifications in the addactivities function. But it is messing up all other modules.

any scheduler programs available to peek into my meetings table and send email notifications?
