removed Note not flaged 'deleted=1'

Hi all,
I use a java program to archive a Openoffice document into a Contact sugar item.the file is correctly archived to contact.
i then login to my sugar local web application from web browser.then browse to archived OO document.
i click 'rem' button to remove this archived file (archived using external java program)'. the file is removed from sugar contact notes ..but when i checked the sugarcrm database i found the 'deleted' field in notes table is not set to deleted=1for filename='my file'.
is this a bug ? or is it supposed to work like this? i guess when i use 'rem' button from sugar web application then the deleted field in notes table should be set to 1 .but yet it stays 0 in my case.
i'm using latest sugarcrm community release.

No , I checked the 'Activities' module and found no note in the name of my file.
actually i archived the file into a contact 'Mona' . when i clicked on Contact named 'mona' , i see the file attachment under 'History' (see attached jpeg image) . it is not on Activities .when i click the button 'rem' on right of History->'my note' then it got removed from contact ->history .but in db table notes the field 'deleted' is still set to 0.

Hi

Rem button will remove the relationship between the contact and notes and it will not delete the note.
In notes table, parent_type & parent_id fields for that note will be set empty once Rem link is clicked.
If you want to delete the note, click on the note and you can delete it from note's detail view.

Hmmm ,exactly that's what i did to get the field deleted set to 1.
But when the rem button removes the relationship between the contact and notes,where is the note gone? how can one find this note again under this Contact item?

In Activities tab, you can find link to notes in Shortcut menu. Click that link. Now you can find the notes module.
Edit the particular note and set values for "Related To" field.

thank you very much. this solves my problem. It was my mistake . i was not doing the note deletion in the right way.
