Restore Backup

I made a backup file for the SugarCRM. But i don't know how to restore the file.
Any advice?

Hi Snue,

It really depends on what you have set up in your current environment. You didn't exactly say whether you have Windows or Linux, in addition, PHP, MySQL versions help greatly too...

From my experiences, I found the best way to backup Sugar is to not use the Backup feature provided. Instead, I would download the Sugar database into the Sugar root folder and then tar everything in the Sugar root folder.

Then when you restore, simply untar the Sugarroot folder, and then reupload the MySQL database back up.

If you have a Linux-environment, I can definitely provide you with indepth explanations for backup/restore procedures.
