Question SAP data sync / capable for ~1k users?

    hi!

I'm looking for a web-based CRM solution with offline capability .. target users about 800. For our backoffice we use SAP R3, but there are several reasons why we may not like to use mySAP CRM.

I've tested the online demo of SugarCRM and SalesForce.com - and I found out that sugarcrm could be a real alternative, especially because of the possiblity for inhouse-hosting. We have also several PHP developers which could expand the application, which Salesforce.com does not allow.

To come to the point... before I go deeper into details I'd like to know some high-level informations...
    - are there up&running enterprise instances of sugarcrm with ~1k users (let's say 300 of them active at the same time) ?
    - is it, in general, possible to sync data between SAP and sugarcrm (especially customer master data, projects, book/bill data)
    - if yes, has this someone sucessfully implemented before?

I know that questions like "is X/Y possible" could be always anwered with a "yes, we could develope it..". But what I need to know is whether there are any standard-interfaces.

    Thanks,
    Roland

SAP an Sugar have enough interfaces to do a sync. We are still waiting for a sponsor. Please contact me if your are interested.

Sugar On Demand is a good example of 1K users. There are many things to consider with syncing with SAP and that would be a gateway syncronizer there is a system called jitterbit that can provide a tool to quickly provide syncronzation and there is a SugarCRM jitterpack already for jitterbit.

Jitterbit can be found at http://www.jitterbit.com/

SugarCRM does have some optimizaions that enhance performance that are optional. Plus there is a new Developers/Users group online that will be having development sessions that will help the new developers get into the code faster for modifications or new modules that your company may need. The Professional and Enterprise can support commercial databases such as Oracle and MS SQL. I have found that MySQL is fast and effective.

As far as scaleability you have it. You can configure multiple servers in a loadbalance configuration to connect to multiple Database servers in a load balance configuration. MySQL servers can be syncronized using replication that is navtive to MySQL.

You can contact me on a consultant basis to help with or implment A solution to match your needs.

Can you please provide details of how your organization permits integration with SAP? IDOC, BAPI/RFC or NetWeaver?

    Hi there,

We have done SAP, SugarCRM integration. We have used Jitterbits and used insert update logic while synching up master data (if the master data exist then update the master data record, if not then insert).

Based on the current performance levels, it takes around 30 mins - 45 mins to sync up Business Partner and Product Master data (around 5k records each).

In this 45 mins, the load on SAP is around 15 mins.

The entire process is automated and scheduled.

Should you have any queries please feel free to drop them at http://veonconsulting.co.uk/sugarcrm...per/Itemid,71/

We would be more than happy to help you.

    Regards,
