    Default Scheduling in Email Campaign

    Hi,

I am facing an issue while sending mass emails to bulk of users. I have created a campaign which will send emails to approx 1000 users at a scheduled date & time.

I have created a runMassEmailCampaign scheduler which interval is every minute, every hour, every date, every month and every day.

When i scheduled my campaign, it send email to only few users. It doesn't send email to all the users. When i check for "View Queued Emails", it shows that few emails have not been sent with Send Attempts is 1.

But when i run a campaign for only few users like 8-10 users, it sends email to all the users.

    Now what to do ?

Please help me. I am stuck at this point.

I sent a campaign to a few hundred contacts yesterday and almost a third of them are stuck in this same state.

In the queued email list they show as having "Send Attempts" 1 and "In Progress" 1. In the campaign they still appear in the Message Queue list.

Undoubtedly there are a few bad addresses in the queued messages, but there were a bunch in the messages that were sent out too. I have looked in the maillog on the server and it does not appear that the messages have been sent at all.

As the OP said: Now what do I do?

    Hi

Make sure your SMTP server is capable of sending hundreds of emails at a time. Are you facing this issue first time?

I am not aware of any restriction and indeed we have other applications that send very large numbers of messages. And in any case wouldn't this be catered for by Sugar?

Interestingly we have the batch size set to 500 (more than the number of targets in the campaign) but it only seemed to send out about 100 in the first hour with the rest going out over the subsequent hour or two.

Looking at modules/EmailMan/EmailManDelivery.php it would appear that it may try again to send the messages after a 24 hour delay. So I guess I will wait and see what happens.

The documentation around campaigns certainly leaves a lot to be desired. I have raised a few issues concerning problems I have come across, but I am unsure if I will be able to find any time soon to detail my other discoveries.

    Hi Scot

Set batch size to 10. Make your scheduler to run every 1 minute. So this will send 600 emails/hour

I have tweaked my settings, but it doesn't change the fact that the queued messages are still sitting there. As I said in my previous post, I suspect they will be sent after a 24hr delay.

yes. you are right. If you change the queued status to 0 directly in DB, email will be delivered automatically.
