Security Patch Notification Procedure

I was wondering if a notification procedure exists.

After seeing mrshark had his site defaced because of an exploit which I beleive was fixed in 3.5.1e I was wondering if there is a "push mechanism" for update alerts (such as an email list). I'm aware of the version check when an admin logs in, but usually admins only log into many systems when maintainence needs to be done, and on our system this is very infrequent (i.e less than once a fortnight).

Yes, this would be very nice. A mailman list would work perfectly well.

As a quick alternative I subscribed to the Announcements forum section:

- Go to the announcements.
- Go to 'Forum Tools' > 'Subscribe to This Forum

You will get email notifications (daily or weekly) if something changes in the announcements forum.
