Select Popups not working

I've discovered that NONE of the select popups in my SugarCRM installation are working. The popup window always contains a 500 error.

To further investigate I increased the logging level to included any errors or warnings. No errors of any kind were indicated! I then increased the level to include 'info' and it looks like there are normal queries going on with nothing to indicate why a 500 error would be returned by the server.

I discovered if I edited the URL to exclude the 'action=Popup' parameter that the same URL works just fine and returns the appropriate results page. I have no idea why including the 'action=Popup' causes the server to return a 500 error.

I'm trying to create a SugarCRM or a worthy non-profit to do some critically needed fund raising. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

can it be a problem with your browser settings (some "block pop up windows thingy"?)

I don't think so. The popup window does get created. Also, the window contains a server response code of 500 so for some reason the server is returning a 500.

Also, I experience the same results with IE or Firefox.

I've installed Sugar OS 4.0.1D
I've never attempted to load SugarCRM on this particular ISP before, they are running PHP 5.0.4 and MySQL 4.1.13.

Sounds like it could be a PHP 5 issue. In reading these forums I see a lot of people with PHP 5 problems and when they downgrade to PHP4 things start working.
I installed the XAMPP stack on my own server and it has a switch to change between PHP5 and PHP4 and after switching to PHP4 I have had no problems like this.
Since you are on a webhost, don't know what your options are but I would try contacting them and asking it if is possible for them to install a version of PHP 4 for you.

Never got it working right. Odd thing is the popups works intermitently, although very very briefly. My hosting provider does allow me to switch between PHP 4 & PHP 5 and I got different results that still prevented the popup pickers from working.

Their conclusion was that it is that it may be a module conflict of some kind. But, since I'm the only person with this issue they are unlikely to tweak modules trying to get to the bottom of the issue.

This happened to me when I had created a custom theme, upgraded Sugar, and kept using the custom theme, not realizing that the pop-up windows had been upgraded in the other themes.

Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but there's my experience.
