Default Serious problem embedding images into my newsletter

First the Logistics. I'm hosted at hostgator running linux and sugar 5.2.0i

i've embedded a few images without issue--the first round of images were uploaded and stored in /cache/images/originalfilename.gif/jpg with a copy in /cache/upload/(random alphanumeric).gif/jpg.

Now, my second round of image uploads went directly to the /cache/images/ directory, but no copy in /cache/upload/

What I can't figure out is this. The images that are in the cache/upload directory seem to work properly, but the ones in the cache/images directory are problematic, not viewable when the newsletter gets sent out.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Some type of configuration issue from install?

There is no rule that says that Campaign images need to be stored in Sugar folders .... in the cache directory or in the cache/imges or cache/upload.

You may be running into permissions issues in these directories.

Try creating a directory ... off your root folder ... call it Campaign_Images ... give it and the files permissions of 755 ... and use this for you Campaign images

    Thanks salesagility.

I had hoped to use sugar fully for the campaign, but as i digged, come to the realization that my 'view as webpage' link would still require a new directory off the root, and i fully generate the html outside of the template before using sugar to send them.

Again, thanks for the response. It lets me know that I'm at least going in the right direction.
