Setting the right date

When I insert a note (or other data, phone calls etc) sometime I need to set the date of the note differently than the date of insertion.
For example today I'm insertin a note that refers to something that happened yesterday, so I need tha date of this note to be set to yesterday and not today...How can I do that ?

You can't do it natively ... you would need to cut some custom code that datestamped the history with the date required.

but I still wonder why this (marketing ?) limitation...should be quite simple to allow to chose the date in which the event happened, and it seems to me a quite usefull features.

So this should become a request for a new features ?

Why not let sugar do what it does ... which is recording actual dates and times ... and then create a custom date/time field to enter the date that you wish to record ... you would need to grab "Enhanced Studio" from the forge ... it has a date/time field combo.

I can't update my CRM anytime/everyplace...usually I insert my data twice a week, and I would like to be able to insert them under the right data...and I don't understand why I should do some programming to do that.

I would rather say this is a BASIC features...bat maybe I'm using Sugar in a wrong way.

It's hardly programming to create a new custom date field in studio & add it to notes

Concur with Mike.

It's a BASIC feature of SugarCRM that you can change it to do the things that are particular to you.

I dare say that your complaints would be louder if you couldn't!!

It's also worth stating that you don't need ANY programming knowledge to do this. Read the part of the manual that discusses Studio
