Default Should I leave sugar? Or different version

We're running Sugar community 5.0 and having all sorts of technical issues. My wife and sales rep are hounding me again today, and I mean hounding . The installation is starting to look unusable, and I'm getting tired of fielding all the annoyances.

Whining aside, I'm curious if others are running into these types of problems. Here's some of the laundry list:
    - Anything email related takes 1 to 2 minutes to do. Want to check your email? Wait one minute. Want to delete an email? That's a minute. I've had both a sugar consultant and my linux folks look at this, for some reason sugar is hitting the server multiple times, causing a mailbox locking problem. Questions on the forum about this here have gone unanswered.
    - when we import an email to a client record, all the attachments disappear.
    - attachments and record frequently get mixed up. We'll attache an email to client A, bring up the record for client A and see the attachment is actally an email from client B. The original email? Gone. We get this at least weekly.

And there's other things going on as well. It really seems like the version of sugar we're running is decidedly unstable. It would take me thousands of $'s to fix all these, and even worse if I did we'd be running a forked version - not something I prefer to do.

Are other users seeing this level of instability? Have folks switched to other systems? Or is 5.0 just an unstable release?

Sugar 5.x was a major architectural shift from 4.5.x - there were countless changes, and not everything was tied up in a neat bow by the time of 5.0 release. There is no question that the latest 5.1.x releases of Sugar are more stable.

lol. Dude, your from Manotick! The world is such a small place. I'm originally from the Winchester area.

In any event - am I correct that I should upgrade to 5.1 and hope my problems go away?

    Hi there,
Unfortunately the email functionality in 5.1 is really no better....check the forums for related posts.
Also there are a few problems with building relationships which I hope will be ironed out by 5.1c.
However as it has always been with sugar, they just cant get the email client right.

Yes I agree with agcopley that a lot of wheel's issue appear to be email related, and the email in current 5.1 seems to be best described as better but not yet good. Also wheel has several significant customizations, so an upgrade is a little non-trivial for him. Still - the hundreds of bug fixes he is missing in what he is running today still would make me recommend an upgrade.
