show/hide fields on drop down selection

Hi

I need to Show/Hide the some fields only not the panel on the DropDown Selection

Let me Explain :
In Leads Module, if we select the options "Employee" from the "Lead Source" then I need to show the field
such as "Referred By", unless the "Employee" is Selected the "Referred By" Field should be hidden

Please some one help me in getting this done
Please state me what are the files that need to be created and where they should be placed to get this done

I think you may be creating unnecessary work ... accept that not every field in sugar will be used in every situation .... otherwise, this requirement is achievable ... but requires codeing ... see the developers guide for some starting points
