Default SLOW SugarCRM 6 faststack Windows install

    Hi, complete SugarCRM newbie here.

Attempting to assess SugarCRM for company for which I work.
Unacceptably slow response time (averaging 5 seconds per screen) on all screens.

I just installed FastStack Windows Installer for 6.0.1 with MySQL & Apache.
Using Demo Data that comes with the Faststack.
Machine details: Windows Vista 64 SP2 machine, Quad core Intel Q8200 @ 2.33Ghz with 6GB of memory.
Using MS IE 8.0 as browser.
Nothing else is running on the machine.
    Logged in as Admin.
Running browser on server (browser accessing localhost)....not accessing over network.

Currently just poking around trying to understand fundamentals and learn basic concepts & operations.

How can I achieve sub-second screen response times on this test machine?
At current slow response times, SugarCRM is not acceptable.
    What am I doing wrong?
    What should I investigate?

    Thanks.

Another newbe here. I have installed Sugar 6.0 on a lesser laptop and it is faster than that. What kind of anti-maleware are you running. If any?

And is your stack installed on your C drive or what?

This really is a great program. You may need to bone up on the module maker. Hint: Make your modules in the modules builder and then deploy them from the module loader. Then shape them in studio. This would take some time to figure out otherwise.

    Great luck.

    Hi,

    1) Anti-Malware SW = McAfee Security Center
    2) Install drive = C:

In the install process I took all of the suggested defaults (except 1) and let the SugarCRM Faststack installer do whatever it does.

The sole exception: I changed the port for SugarCRM MySQL from 3306 to 3307, due to another app that already used MySQL on port 3306.

(This older app uses MySQL 4.0.1 installed in entirely a different directory, so I presume it doesn't conflict with SugarCRM's install of MySQL. Also, when testing SugarCRM the older MySQL app is not loaded or activated.)

On your "lesser laptop" what Operating System are you using?
What CPU & how much RAM are you using?

    Thanks.

I am sorry that it takes so long for me to get back here. I am hard at it.

Try turning off the McAfee and have a go. This is a local install yes? Disconnect from the internet and check your currently running apps. The system should run that server much faster than it is unless there are too many obstacles and the CPU is jammed. Another idea would be a disc defrag. If your server is all over the board, this will make for some slowing.

Running a server on a hard drive can be a tricky business when it comes to speed. There are many other things going on at the same time.

    I hope this helps.
